The popular action figure series 'S.H.Figuarts', released by TAMASHII NATIONS, the collector's toy division of Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS Co., Ltd., has announced its latest product: the "S.H.Figuarts Super Saiyan Trunks -The Super Potential Hidden Within-" (tentative title) action figure! This follows the release of "Super Saiyan Future Trunks" from Dragon Ball Z after a 12-year hiatus. The suggested retail price is 3,960 JPY, and it is scheduled for release in September 2023.
A Saiyan and Earthling hybrid, Trunks is one of the few handsome young characters in the Dragon Ball series. He first appeared as the "mysterious boy from the future," and his short jacket fashion style was decades ahead of its time in real life. Skilled in swordsmanship, he carries a greatsword forged by Dr. Brief and possesses a power level comparable to that of Goku at the time. When Frieza and his father King Cold attacked, he mercilessly cut down both father and son!
The "S.H.Figuarts Super Saiyan Trunks -The Super Potential Hidden Within-" stands approximately 14 cm tall. Its sculpt is based on the Trunks figure released in 2016, now recreated with new articulation design and a paint application that is more faithful to the in-show colors: the Super Saiyan hair features a shimmering pearlescent finish, and the battle suit's colors are more saturated and vibrant. In addition to the standard serious face, two interchangeable facial expressions are included: a shouting face and an angry face for combat. These can be combined with interchangeable hand parts, crossed-arm replacement parts, and more, allowing fans to recreate memorable scenes from the series.
