Japanese model manufacturer MEGAHOUSE today announced the latest product from its large-scale, light-up and sound monster statue series, 'UA Monsters', the 'Gigan (1972)' from the film 'Godzilla vs. Gigan: Earth Attack Command', expected to release in September 2023.
The film 'Godzilla vs. Gigan: Earth Attack Command', which celebrates its 50th anniversary since its release, marks the debut of the popular monster Gigan. In the movie, the villainous M Space Hunter Nebula Aliens, in their bid to invade Earth, transformed a space dinosaur into the cyborg monster Gigan. Gigan's entire body is equipped with ferocious weaponry, including a laser beam cannon on its head, heat rays fired from its mouth, scythe-like giant hammer hands, and rotating blades on its abdomen. Gigan's actions could be controlled by signals transmitted from the "Godzilla Tower" located at their base.
The "UA Monsters Gigan (1972)" boasts an impressive height of 30 cm, meticulously capturing its distinctive electronic eyes on the head, skin and tail reminiscent of King Ghidorah, as well as its scythe-like arms and abdomen blades resembling a circular saw. The figure utilizes gold, silver, and dark green colors to faithfully reproduce the various parts of this composite monster. Furthermore, articulated mechanisms are included in the sharp teeth on both sides of the head, the lower jaw, shoulders, and elbows, allowing for a variety of dynamic poses.
This product, like previous entries in the series, features built-in light-up and sound mechanisms. By simply activating the switch on the display base, you can toggle between two distinct light and sound modes. Mode one emits a sharp roar and fully illuminates the laser beam emitter on its head, while mode two produces a different roar, indicative of Gigan's "happy" state.
