Following the Tetsujin 28 FX & Tetsujin 17 Phoenix, the popular die-cast action figure series 'RIOBOT' from Japanese model manufacturer Sentinel has today announced its second product from 'Super Electric Robot Tetsujin 28 FX': the 'Black Ox (Tetsujin 29 OX)', scheduled for release in November 2023.
Airing in 1992, 'Super Electric Robot Tetsujin 28 FX' is a sequel set decades after the original series 'Tetsujin 28'. The former boy detective Shotaro Kaneda has grown into a 45-year-old private investigator, establishing the 'Kaneda Detective Agency'. With the full support of his wife Yoko and the family's Sakaki Foundation, he not only preserved the old Tetsujin 28 but also initiated the 'New Tetsujin Project', developing dozens of new-generation Tetsujin units. Their eldest son, Masato Kaneda, becomes the pilot of the new-generation Tetsujin 28 FX, joining forces with the Kaneda Boy Detectives to combat the evil 'Neo Black Organization' led by President Zorn.
The 'RIOBOT Black Ox' reinterprets the design with a modern style and cutting-edge technology, boasting an impressive 29 cm height. It features sharp armor and a cool, tall proportion, incorporating lines that evoke powerful musculature. The overall paint application uses colors like gold, silver, red, and black to achieve a heavy, premium feel, with some parts crafted from die-cast metal, providing a substantial weight both visually and in hand. Furthermore, illuminating the head and chest with a separately sold black light will produce a glowing effect.
In addition to its excellent articulation, the RIOBOT Black Ox is equipped with a precise three-stage transformation mechanism, allowing it to fully transform from fighter jet mode to robot mode without needing to swap parts. By deploying its chest armor and back weaponry, it can further transform into its ultimate weapon, the 'Annihilation Buster Cannon' mode! When combined with the limited bonus 'Cable Parts for Connecting with Black Ox & Dedicated Hand Parts' obtained by ordering 'RIOBOT Tetsujin 28 FX & Tetsujin 17 Phoenix' from the Sentinel Store official shop, you can recreate the combined special attack, the 'Double Power Annihilation Buster Cannon' pose!
