At 66 years old, 宮脇修一 is not only the de facto president of Japan's veteran model manufacturer Kaiyodo, but also one of the most passionate model collectors on Earth. He owns over 40,000 assembled models and has even challenged the Guinness World Records with this collection. However, on March 14, he was urgently hospitalized for facial nerve paralysis.

Fortunately, after being admitted for treatment, 宮脇修一 was not in serious condition and only needed one to two months of rest to fully recover and be discharged. Half a month later, his recovery speed was faster than expected. From the photos, it's clear his complexion has gradually returned to its usual state, even surprising the nurses assisting with his rehabilitation. He is expected to be discharged by the end of April to recuperate at home. However, 宮脇修一 couldn't stay idle. Just a few days after being admitted, he had someone bring his model-making tools into his private room.

By early April, this private room had already transformed into a small model workshop. Models, paints, brushes, glue, and various other tools were scattered on the narrow cabinet next to his hospital bed. 宮脇修一 began leisurely clipping model parts from the sprues, mixing various colors with water-based model paints, and picking up brushes to give realistic colors to monochrome molded models. His love for models is truly astonishing. Nevertheless, we hope he can rest well and recover soon, and continue to lead Kaiyodo in releasing more outstanding model works in the future.
