Hong Kong toy manufacturer Hot Toys yesterday (6th) unveiled several new products celebrating the 40th anniversary of "Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi." In addition to two versions of "Darth Vader," the most familiar protocol droid, "C-3PO," has also made its appearance!
The biggest highlight of this C-3PO figure is the inclusion of Jabba's pet, the memorable Kowakian monkey-lizard Salacious B. Crumb, known for its cunning laughter. Paired with C-3PO's interchangeable faceplate featuring a detached right eye, you can recreate the amusing scene where he is attacked! Regarding specifications, C-3PO stands approximately 29 cm tall and features 26 points of articulation. Many parts are crafted from alloy materials, and the electroplated finish realistically captures the metallic weight. Combined with exposed wires at the waist, intricate mechanical structures, realistic weathering across the body surface, and LED light-up functions in both eyes of the head, the charm of this classic droid character is fully conveyed. Salacious B. Crumb also features simple articulation and gradient painting to enhance its organic feel.
The base is also an accessory that the editor personally finds excellent. In addition to featuring a ground design inspired by Jabba's Palace, its color scheme also complements C-3PO well. Furthermore, the set includes multiple interchangeable hands and a packaging box printed with the "Return of the Jedi" 40th-anniversary logo.
