Released by TAMASHII NATIONS, the collector's toy division of Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS Company, the "METAL ROBOT SPIRITS" series, which combines metallic texture painting and an alloy frame, today officially announced the latest product from "Mobile Suit Gundam Wing," the "Tallgeese II," scheduled for release in September 2023.
The OZ-00MS2 Tallgeese II is the mobile suit piloted by OZ leader Treize Khushrenada during the final stages of the "Gundam Wing" story. It was assembled using spare parts from the Tallgeese (Zechs' unit). Aside from differences in its crest-like head and Gundam-esque face, its performance is identical to the original Tallgeese. The unit's blue coloring symbolizes Treize's participation in the war on behalf of Earth, having assumed the role of leader of the World Nation. In the series, it engaged in fierce combat with the previously released Altron Gundam.
The "METAL ROBOT SPIRITS Tallgeese II" faithfully recreates the cool blue and white armor design from the series with completely new sculpting. Its main body, including the torso and limbs, features an internal alloy movable frame, providing a firm and weighty feel when handled. The pull-out mechanism in the ankle joints further expands the range of motion for the feet, allowing for elegant floating poses. The alloy parts are electroplated to achieve a brilliant metallic luster, and the entire unit boasts a heavy, matte finish coating and high-density markings, with abundant details enhancing the mobile suit's coolness.
One of the Tallgeese II's distinctive features is its backpack, which can open to reveal internal thrusters. This METAL ROBOT SPIRITS version reproduces this deployment mechanism without the need for interchangeable parts. Furthermore, an original mechanism has been added to this release, allowing the side skirts and rear skirt armor to also deploy, revealing intricate internal details. The head also faithfully recreates the series' setting, allowing the Gundam-style face to be removed to expose the internal camera section, similar to that of a Leo. In addition to its main armaments—the "Dober Gun," "Beam Saber," and "Shield"—the accessories also include "Beam Effect Parts" for the Altron Gundam, enabling the recreation of the iconic scene from the final battle where the Tallgeese II is pierced through the waist!
