Having recently launched the "EVA Unit-01" which was exclusively sold in Taiwan and Hong Kong, Hong Kong toy design brand Mechnoiz Toys is striking while the iron is hot, swiftly announcing their next "Neon Genesis Evangelion" themed new product - the soft vinyl toy of the Fourth Angel "Sachiel" (サキエル)! Online lottery sales are currently underway, with shipments expected to begin in June-July 2023.
May 4, 2023 Update:
Sachiel, arguably one of the most popular Angels in the "Neon Genesis Evangelion" story, is named after Sachiel, the angel of water in Judaism and Christianity. In the TV and manga versions of "Neon Genesis Evangelion," it was the first "Third Angel" to attack, while in "Evangelion: 1.0 You Are (Not) Alone," it was also the first Angel to appear, but this version is referred to as the "Fourth Angel." It possesses a pale, grotesque face, a red core, imposing massive shoulders, and remarkably slender limbs. It overwhelmingly defeated the newly deployed EVA Unit-01 & Shinji with its combat prowess, ultimately self-destructing to counter the berserk Unit-01.
Officially licensed by Khara and crafted by Mechnoiz Toys, the "Fourth Angel" stands at 28 cm tall, similar to the previous Unit-01 (27.9 cm). It features a design with a second face emerging, and reinterprets its massive shoulders, slender limbs, and sharp claws with unique proportions. The eerie body details around the chest and abdomen, along with the distinct skeletal contours, are meticulously sculpted. Upon seeing the official colored images, one can truly appreciate the realistic texture and charm of the off-white bone sections; the etched cracks and rough textures exude a strong organic feel. In contrast, the face is remarkably smooth, creating a striking contrast. Coupled with the eye-catching red core, it's truly cool!
