T-ARTS, the popular gashapon series from the toy brand under Japan's TAKARA TOMY company, "Original Color Illustrated Series," will release its latest work, "Original Color Illustrated Series Extra Edition: Tardigrade." It will be available in four types, with a reference price of 400 Japanese Yen per capsule, and is scheduled to be released in late May 2023!
The "Tardigrade," known as the strongest creature on Earth, is a multicellular microorganism with a body length of only about 0.3-0.5mm, classified under the phylum Tardigrada (water bears). It possesses four cryptobiotic states – anhydrobiosis (low humidity), cryobiosis (low temperature), osmobiosis (osmotic changes), and anoxybiosis (lack of oxygen) – allowing it to survive under various harsh conditions, even in high-radiation environments in space. It has a head, four body segments, and eight legs with claws and suckers, with a round and plump body. Under extreme conditions, they curl up, cease metabolism, enter a state of "suspended animation," and await the opportune moment to revive.
The "3D Illustrated Series," dedicated to realistically creating and introducing the ecology of mimetic plants and insects, reproduces the actual size of insects in a 1:1 scale and recreates the biological details of mimetic insects in terms of color, posture, and physical structure. This time, T-ARTS' "Original Color Illustrated Series Extra Edition: Tardigrade" specially reproduces the world's strongest tardigrade at a palm-sized 10000% magnification! Composed of 21 parts, it is designed with an articulated body and small legs. There are two poses: a normal state and a feeding state with an extended proboscis, and four color variations: image color, clear, clear brown, and clear green. Each type includes a display stand.
