To celebrate the upcoming Star Wars Day, in addition to the 40591 "Death Star II" set, LEGO has also revealed a rather unique gift-with-purchase: the 5007840 "Return of the Jedi 40th Anniversary Collectible Set"!
From the official LEGO website, we learn that this special gift-with-purchase will include a commemorative silver coin etched with the texture of the "Death Star II" and a translucent blue commemorative plaque. Its design somewhat resembles the data pads seen in Star Wars stories, featuring prints of the Death Star and LEGO bricks. According to the early unboxing by LEGO news site Hoth Bricks, it's even possible to use the packaging design to overlap the silver coin and the blue plaque, creating a more intricate appearance, and it can be displayed at a 45° angle. However, the quality of the cardboard packaging does appear rather ordinary, causing the overall premium feel to decline significantly.
Furthermore, the promotional period for this gift-with-purchase is essentially the same as for the "40591 Death Star II", available from May 1st to May 7th. It can be obtained with purchases of 85 Euros or more. Further information will be updated continuously.
