Japanese model manufacturer MEGAHOUSE today announced the latest product in its Gundam series diorama models, the 'Realistic Model Series', featuring the "GS06 Heliopolis Battlefield" from "Mobile Suit Gundam SEED", scheduled for release in September 2023.
The theme of this product, "Heliopolis", is the neutral Orb Union space colony where protagonist Kira Yamato and others resided at the beginning of the anime "Mobile Suit Gundam SEED". Although its inhabitants lived peaceful lives, the semi-national military industrial enterprise Morgenroete Inc. and the Atlantic Federation secretly constructed five GAT-X series mobile suits, "Gundams", here. This made Heliopolis a primary target for the Z.A.F.T. forces, transforming it into a perilous battlefield overnight, where four of the Gundams, excluding the Strike Gundam, were stolen.
The "Realistic Model Series G Diorama Model Heliopolis Battlefield" recreates a corner of Heliopolis transformed into a battlefield, with dimensions of approximately 175mm in height and 240mm in width. It is compatible with Bandai's 1/144 scale Gunpla products for display. The base diorama and individual buildings feature complete color painting and intricate damage details. It also includes water decals that can be applied with various markings, recreating the traces of the fierce battle between the two mobile suit factions. By combining it with the separately sold 1/144 scale Strike Gundam and GINN, you can recreate the opening battle scene from the anime!
