Japan's Bandai Co., Ltd.'s gashapon toy brand GASHAPON's luxurious series "Biological Encyclopedia Ultimate" will release the highly anticipated "Locust" gashapon. There are four types, with a reference price of 1,000 JPY per turn. It is currently available for online gashapon at GASHAPON ONLINE in Japan, with an estimated shipping date of June 2023.
The "Biological Encyclopedia Ultimate" series, featuring top-tier size, sculpting, and articulation design, boasts even more realistic details and exquisite paintwork compared to the "Biological Encyclopedia" products. This time, featuring the locust that previously appeared in "Mini Collection Insects 02" as the main subject, the "Biological Encyclopedia Ultimate Locust" is released. It utilizes X-ray CT scans to thoroughly recreate the specimen's form, realistically reproducing the locust's body structure with articulation. Measuring 85 mm in length, it meticulously recreates characteristic large compound eyes, whip-like antennae, and spiky legs with biological detail.
Included are: Green Locust, Brown Locust, Black Locust, and the Gregarious-colored Locust when it enters the gregarious phase, totaling four types. The characteristic patterns, such as the black longitudinal stripe below the dark brown compound eyes, the brown longitudinal stripe behind the eyes, and the gradient color of the tibiae, are vividly reproduced. The entire body features approximately 17 points of articulation, and an articulated design allows for wing expansion, with the thin, transparent hindwings crafted with remarkable detail! Even details like the abdominal segments, usually hidden beneath the wings, are reproduced with extreme vividness.
