Following the YF-19 Excalibur and YF-29 Durandal Valkyrie (Alto Saotome Custom), BANDAI SPIRITS HOBBY Division in Japan has once again announced the commercialization of the latest product in the "HG 1/100 Macross" series of plastic models: the "YF-29 Durandal Valkyrie (Maximilian Jenius Custom)".
The machine being released this time is the blue beloved machine, the "YF-29 Durandal Valkyrie", piloted by Maximilian Jenius when he reappeared in "Macross Delta the Movie: Absolute LIVE!!!!!!". Maximilian Jenius is a character who first appeared in the original "Macross", regarded by director Shoji Kawamori as the most skilled pilot in the entire series, and also the grandfather of Mirage, one of the heroines of "Macross Delta".
Currently, it appears that the "HG 1/100 YF-29 Durandal Valkyrie (Maximilian Jenius Custom)" kit is based on a modified version of the Alto Saotome Custom. It will utilize new molding colors and decals to recreate the distinctive blue and white fuselage, as well as new parts to reproduce the unique wing design. It will also be capable of three-stage transformation through part swapping. Detailed product information is expected to be released in June.
