From Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS Collectors Division, the "S.H.Figuarts" action figure series, known for its exceptional sculpting and coloring, is set to release its latest product based on the anime "Naruto Shippuden": the "S.H.Figuarts Orochimaru -Seeker of Eternal Truth-" (tentative title) action figure. It will retail for 7,700 JPY and is scheduled for release in October 2023!
"Orochimaru," along with Jiraiya and Tsunade, is renowned as one of the Legendary Sannin. Originally a genius ninja from Konoha, he garnered significant attention under the guidance of Hiruzen Sarutobi and was once considered a successor to the Third Hokage. In his relentless pursuit of mastering all ninjutsu, Orochimaru began to seek an immortal body, leading him to research the "Reanimation Jutsu" (不屍轉生之術), which transfers one's soul to another body, and to utilize forbidden jutsu or drugs to modify his body, transforming it into a serpentine form. Due to his profound immersion in forbidden jutsu research and extreme actions, such as using village ninjas as human experimental subjects, he was exiled from Konoha and became a rogue ninja.
The "S.H.Figuarts Orochimaru -Seeker of Eternal Truth-" action figure stands approximately 15 cm tall, faithfully recreating his signature black long hair, pale skin, golden vertical pupils, and purple eyeshadow, all contributing to his intimidating and sinister aura. It comes with three interchangeable face parts: a confident smile, a maniacal battle laugh, and a tongue-out expression. These can be combined with his weapon, the "Kusanagi Sword," and interchangeable hand parts to recreate his famous "Hidden Shadow Snake Hands" technique, as well as a crossed-arms pose, allowing for a variety of dynamic scenes.
