Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE) today brought players the PlayStation Showcase, featuring exciting content and impressive new games. The showcase presented a wide range of game genres, a series of new and upcoming titles for PlayStation 5, PlayStation VR2, and PC, demonstrating SIE's commitment to quality in games and products, as well as depth of content. The software lineup also paid homage to long-standing game series, including "Metal Gear Solid" and "Resident Evil," as well as fan-favorite franchises like "Dragon’s Dogma," "Alan Wake," and "Arizona Sunshine." The show also debuted Project Q, a new device for playing PS5 games via Remote Play, and PlayStation's first-ever official wireless earbuds.

"Our players expect and deserve more amazing content. Today's showcase demonstrates our unwavering commitment to providing them with the best and most diverse games possible."

Known for its narrative-driven single-player games, PlayStation Studios today unveiled three ambitious multiplayer projects for PlayStation 5 and PC: "Fairgame$" from Haven Studios, and "Concord" from Firewalk Studios (launching in 2024). Meanwhile, Arrowhead Game Studios is bringing players back to the beloved world of cooperative sci-fi shooters with "Helldivers 2," releasing this year. Additionally, Bungie, which became part of SIE in July 2022, announced a brand-new game, "Marathon"—a sci-fi extraction shooter and the first completely new project from Bungie in years. Bungie also revealed the next major expansion for "Destiny 2," titled "The Final Shape," which will be the epic conclusion to Destiny's long-running Light and Darkness saga.

The showcase also featured a lineup of games from the industry's most renowned third-party publishers, such as Capcom, EA, Konami, Square Enix, and others, as well as titles from beloved independent game companies like Dreamlit Games, Devolver Digital, Giant Squid, Kepler Interactive, and more. Players also received major updates on highly anticipated games like "Assassin’s Creed Mirage," "Street Fighter 6," and "Final Fantasy XVI." Heavyweight developers continue to support PlayStation VR2, with exciting announcements including the surprise launch of the globally acclaimed "Beat Saber," along with titles such as "Synapse," "Arizona Sunshine 2," "Resident Evil 4 VR Mode," and "Crossfire: Sierra Squad."

The showcase concluded with a new look at the highly anticipated "Marvel’s Spider-Man 2" from Insomniac Games, launching this fall on PlayStation 5. The breathtaking new footage highlighted the game's richer and more detailed environments and showed how players can seamlessly switch between Peter Parker and Miles Morales, who have mastered unique abilities to face thrilling new villains like Kraven the Hunter and the Lizard.

In addition to the strong software lineup, SIE also announced Project Q during the showcase—a dedicated device launching later this year. Players can use Remote Play over Wi-Fi 1 to play any compatible2 game installed on their PS5 console. The device features a vibrant 8-inch LCD screen supporting up to 1080p at 60fps, delivering crisp visuals and smooth PS5 streaming gameplay when you are away from your TV. It also supports all the buttons and features of the DualSense wireless controller, including adaptive triggers and haptic feedback3.

PlayStation's first-ever official wireless earbuds also made their debut, bringing next-generation immersive audio to both PS5 and PC. They can also connect to smartphones via Bluetooth and will be released later this year. These earbuds will feature new wireless technology developed by SIE and will deliver lossless audio with low latency for a high-quality sound experience. More details about these two accessories will be announced in the future.

Jim Ryan, President and CEO of SIE, stated: "Our players expect and deserve more amazing content. Today's showcase demonstrated our unwavering commitment to providing the best and most diverse range of games. It also highlights how the PS5, as part of the global development community, leverages its prominence and power to push advanced technology to its limits. We will continue to invest heavily in the future, combining innovation with the best devices like PlayStation VR2 and the newly announced Project Q, as well as our expansion into PC, mobile, and live service games.
