Japan's Sentinel toy company, under its RIOBOT action figure series, will release in March 2024 an action figure of the "Intruder" VRS-077F mecha from the official spin-off novel "GENESIS BREAKER" of the classic popular sci-fi work "Genesis Climber MOSPEADA" (機甲創世記モスピーダ).
The robot anime series "Genesis Climber MOSPEADA", originally created by Japan's Tatsunoko Production (タツノコ), premiered on Fuji TV in Japan in October 1983, with a total of 25 episodes. In Taiwan, it was introduced by CTV in 1986 and aired under the name "Space Warrior". Later, this work, along with "The Super Dimension Fortress Macross" and "The Super Dimension Cavalry Southern Cross," was sold to the American company "Harmony Gold," merged, and re-adapted into an 85-episode anime series titled "Robotech".
The story of Genesis Climber MOSPEADA recounts that in A.D. 2050, Earth was invaded by an unknown alien lifeform, the "Inbit (インビット)". Humanity was forced to abandon Earth and relocate to a Martian colony. In 2080, humanity's attempt to counterattack still failed. Three years later, humanity planned to strike back again with new weapons. The protagonist, "Stick Bernard" (スティック·バーナード, formerly translated as Bei Jia-hua), was a member of the operation. His squad was annihilated for various reasons, and only he survived, landing on Earth. He embarks on a series of adventures on his unfamiliar home planet, carrying a mission.
In October 2022, Genesis Climber MOSPEADA began serialization of its spin-off novel "GENESIS BREAKER" in the monthly magazine "HOBBY JAPAN". Based on the same timeline concept, it describes the story of the special forces unit "Breakers". Led by Captain Gate (ゲイト), their primary mission is intelligence gathering, distinct from the Martian regular army.
In the original work, the Martian base developed the "Armor Cycle", an equipment that can transform into a motorcycle, to provide individual soldiers with combat firepower against enemies. Normally stored in a folded mode, it can deploy into a motorcycle for transportation when in use. Members wearing Riding Suits can connect with the equipment via 9 joint points, forming powerful armor akin to a suit of armor, possessing both firepower and aerial maneuverability. The entire equipment system is named the "RIDING ARMOR SYSTEM".
This "Intruder VRS-077F" (INTRUDER VRS-077F) planned for release by Sentinel is produced in 1/12 scale, with a total height of approximately 15 cm. It is the exclusive equipment of the spin-off's protagonist, Gate. It perfectly recreates the separation and combination of the humanoid and motorcycle forms. Its appearance also aligns with the spin-off novel's setting. The small reconnaissance drone at the rear of the vehicle can be detached independently and comes with a dedicated stand for display.
