LEGO bricks, piece by piece, hold infinite possibilities; with imagination, anything can be created! The world is full of countless LEGO enthusiasts who meticulously craft astonishing works with LEGO. This time, we bring you a 1/36 scale, 50cm tall "Gundam Aerial" brick-built model, created by Japanese LEGO builder Seirei (@seirei526).
Among the diverse range of LEGO MOC creations, sci-fi mecha, and even brick-built renditions of mobile suits from the Gundam universe, have always been immensely popular themes. And among the many creators, Japanese LEGO fans certainly possess a unique and incredibly impressive approach to shaping mecha and Gundam mobile suits, as well as selecting parts! This "Gundam Aerial" by Seirei truly combines imposing size with intricate detail. The number of parts used and the revisions made must have been even more astounding. The overall appearance faithfully captures the Gundam Aerial's design, further highlighting the almost human-like lines of its arms and legs. The texture of the internal mechanical structure is built up using a rich array of small parts, with the combination of binoculars and ski pole parts being particularly ingenious.
From the distinctive head, arms, chest, and waist, to the powerfully present legs, Seirei utilized many types of curved, sloped, and flat parts, not to mention the clever outlining with Technic elements. From the build process he shared on Twitter, it's clear that many sections were first constructed with an internal frame, then covered layer by layer with outer armor. So many of the mechanism designs can only be described as "absolutely amazing!" Furthermore, the Gundam Aerial's shield, which can separate into GUND-bits in the story, has also been faithfully recreated, showcasing incredibly strong technical skill.
