Following the Century King SUN DRIVER, Bandai Spirits' adult-oriented Kamen Rider belt series, 'COMPLETE SELECTION MODIFICATION,' has today announced its latest product from 'Kamen Rider BLACK SUN,' the 'Century King MOON DRIVER,' scheduled for release in November 2023.
'Kamen Rider BLACK SUN' is part of the 50th-anniversary project for Japan's popular tokusatsu series 'Kamen Rider.' The project aims to return to the series' origins, remaking the popular 1987 broadcast 'Kamen Rider BLACK' with director Kazuya Shiraishi's fresh perspective, presenting the cruel fates and sorrowful story of the two protagonists, Kotaro Minami and Nobuhiko Akizuki. In the series, both the Kamen Rider and the transformation belt designs were reimagined. Following the Century King SUN DRIVER used by Kotaro Minami/Kamen Rider Black Sun, CSM is now releasing the Century King MOON DRIVER, used by his close friend Nobuhiko Akizuki/Kamen Rider Shadowmoon, who ultimately became his adversary due to differing beliefs.
The 'CSM Century King MOON DRIVER' meticulously recreates the intricate mechanical structure seen in the series. Its jet-black color is extensively treated with weathering effects, simulating the worn paint and exposed metallic base color after numerous battles in the show. Furthermore, the belt incorporates a total of 16 internal LED lights in various locations, faithfully reproducing the green glow from its entire front surface.
Similar to the previously released Century King SUN DRIVER, this belt also features an automatic transformation mechanism. Its built-in sound and motion sensors trigger the automatic transformation of 7 parts of the belt and emit transformation sound effects, recreating the unfolding of the belt's side covers to reveal its internal mechanical structure. The belt is also equipped with three buttons: 'Transformation/Finisher,' 'Dialogue,' and 'BGM.' Pressing these buttons plays various transformation, attack, and finisher sound effects from the series, as well as multiple lines recorded by Tomoya Nakamura, who portrays Nobuhiko Akizuki, and up to 10 in-series BGM tracks!
