The renowned Japanese toy company TakaraTomy's best-selling gashapon brand, T-ARTS, following its "JAWS Character Collection" based on the classic thriller film "Jaws," has once again launched a second new installment, the "JAWS Character Collection 2" gashapon. There are four types in total, with a suggested retail price of 400 Japanese Yen per capsule, scheduled for release in late June 2023.
The classic American thriller film in cinematic history, "Jaws," was released in 1975, directed by Steven Spielberg and based on Peter Benchley's novel of the same name. The plot describes how Chief Martin Brody, Dr. Matt Hooper, and Captain Quint battle a giant man-eating great white shark that appears near the resort town's coast, all to protect the safety of the beach. (Note: In reality, the probability of sharks unprovokedly attacking humans is extremely low.)
This film was also the pioneering work that originated the "Blockbuster" concept, laying the foundation for the formula of mainstream commercial films worldwide: abundant special effects, screams and explosions, thrilling action sequences, and a summer release!
The "T-ARTS JAWS Character Collection 2" gashapon continues the style of its predecessor, bringing key scenes from the film series to life in 3D at gashapon sizes of 6 to 11 centimeters! This includes the "SHARK CAGE 'JAWS' (1975)" shark model with an articulated mouth and caudal fin, and it comes with an investigator figure that can be removed from the cage, allowing you to recreate the scene of the shark attacking the investigation cage! Also featured are the explosion scene with the shark biting the submarine cable in "SUBMARINE CABLE 'JAWS 2' (1978)," the scene of the shark breaking through the glass of an underwater facility in "RAID 'JAWS 3' (1983)," and the "BATTLE WITH SHARK 'JAWS' (1975)" which recreates the shark's underwater posture. Not only can these be displayed on your desk, but you can also fully enjoy the vivid scenarios of the great white shark!
