BANDAI SPIRITS HOBBY Division in Japan, following the YF-19 Excalibur and YF-29 Durandal Valkyrie (Alto Saotome Custom), today announced the latest product in the "HG 1/100 Macross" series of plastic model kits: the "YF-29 Durandal Valkyrie (Maximilian Jenius Custom) Super Parts Set", scheduled for release in October 2023.
The machine being released this time is the "YF-29 Durandal Valkyrie", the beloved blue aircraft piloted by Maximilian Jenius when he reappeared in "Macross Delta the Movie: Absolute LIVE!!!!!!". Jenius has appeared since the original "Macross" and is regarded by director Shoji Kawamori as the most technically skilled pilot in the entire series, as well as being the grandfather of Mirage, one of the heroines of "Macross Delta".
The "HG 1/100 YF-29 Durandal Valkyrie (Maximilian Jenius Custom) Super Parts Set" is a modification of the previously released Alto Saotome Custom. The kit features precise color separation and part division, using new molding colors to reproduce the characteristic blue and white fuselage, and new parts to recreate the unique wing design. Each clear part is made with three different polarized molding colors, allowing the colors to change depending on the angle of light.
The characteristic three-stage transformation mechanism of FIGHTER, GERWALK, and BATTROID can be easily reproduced by replacing parts. Not only do all forms boast the cool, streamlined silhouette of a fighter jet, but the included new ultra-thin decals can be used to complete the colors and markings on various parts of the fuselage. In BATTROID mode, the pull-out shoulder joints and three-axis movable chest mechanism provide a highly flexible range of motion.
In addition to the basic armaments of the GUNPOD, shield, and combat knife, a newly produced set of Super Parts is included to recreate the enhanced form. This includes missile pods and FOLD wave projectors, which can be reproduced in their deployed state by replacing parts.
