BANDAI SPIRITS' Collectors Division, TAMASHII NATIONS, today announced the latest product from its popular die-cast toy METAL BUILD's new spin-off series, 'METAL BUILD DRAGON SCALE,' the 'Ryujinmaru 35th Anniversary Edition' from the anime 'Mashin Hero Wataru,' scheduled for general release in November 2023.

'METAL BUILD DRAGON SCALE' continues the characteristics of the previous MB series, such as 'die-cast parts combined with a heavy, substantial paint finish' and 'reinterpreting the styling to match the character,' while adding new elements like 'movable exterior armor resembling dragon scales' and 'internal structures housing a soul.' In the first product, 'METAL BUILD DRAGON SCALE Ryujinmaru,' one could already see the intricate golden dragon-shaped frame and movable armor structures that enhance both styling and articulation, injecting a wealth of new ideas into the classic mecha.

The overall design is reinterpreted by mechanical designer Manabu Shintani of ASTRAYS. Based on the original design's silhouette, it is given a higher density of detail, such as the expression of metallic internal structures and enhanced layering through armor segmentation, making Ryujinmaru more 'mechanical' in its imagery. The overall height reaches 23 cm, possessing an overwhelming sense of volume. Furthermore, many joint and frame parts are made of die-cast material, providing a weighty feel when handled, distinct from previous purely plastic products.

This 35th Anniversary Edition, unlike the original version's lower-saturation color scheme, utilizes more vibrant blues, metallic colors, and electroplated finishes to represent the more vivid color palette seen in the anime.

Through designs such as multiple interlocking armor parts across the body, articulated fingers, and two-stage pull-out shoulder joints, Ryujinmaru can be posed with accessories including 2 types of interchangeable hands, the Tōryūken sword, a back sword hanger, left and right effect parts, and a display base set, allowing for dynamic poses such as the Ryūraiken and Enryūken emitted from its palms, as well as raising both hands to unleash its special move, 'Tōryūken'!

Furthermore, Bandai has also announced that the METAL BUILD DRAGON SCALE series will launch more 'Mashin Hero Wataru' product projects in 2024. It is highly likely that the first to appear will be the 'Ryūōmaru,' which was exhibited late last year. This product will feature a transformation mechanism, allowing it to transform from its Mashin form into its flying 'Hōō Form.'
