The most diverse 1/144 scale Gunpla series, 'HG (High Grade)', produced by Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS Company HOBBY Division, is set to release its latest product from "Mobile Suit Gundam The Witch from Mercury", the "HG 1/144 Gundam Schwarzette", on July 8, 2023. Today, the box art and prototype images have been unveiled in advance.
The MDX-0003 Gundam Schwarzette is a mobile suit secretly developed by Jeturk Heavy Machinery after acquiring GUND System-related technology from Shin Sei Development Corporation. Its exterior design incorporates many features from the Darilbalde developed by the same company, and it boasts excellent performance. Although its armament appears to be just one bulky greatsword, it is actually the six GUND-Bits "Guardians" equipped on the Schwarzette. When deployed, not only does the internal physical blade unsheathe, but each GUND-Bit also contains beam vulcans and diffuse beam cannons, and can form a cape-like "Bit on Form" configuration, achieving an offense-defense integrated combat style.
The "HG 1/144 Gundam Schwarzette" features a sophisticated, easy-to-assemble construction and flexible articulation. Its subdued body colors are recreated with multiple molded part colors. The glowing areas characteristic of GUND-ARM system mobile suits, such as the head, shoulders, and thighs, are represented with clear parts and stickers to achieve a luminous effect.
The sheath-like multi-functional offense-defense system "Guardians" also faithfully recreates its in-show design, separating into a physical blade and six GUND-Bits. The physical blade utilizes clear parts to create the deployed beam blade effect. The six GUND-Bits can be assembled into a cape-like form and equipped on the backpack, recreating the "Bit on Form" configuration that significantly enhances mobility.
