Renowned artist James Groman, whose works are beloved by many soft vinyl enthusiasts and toy collectors, has teamed up with toy company MONDO to create a monstrous masterpiece with his distinctive personal style: the "Godzilla - Vinyl Designer Figure"! It is currently available for pre-order on MONDO's official website, with an estimated shipping date of March 2024.
When James Groman is mentioned, various unique monsters he designed immediately come to mind, such as the classic and renowned King Korpse, the one-eyed Kaiju Killer, and the distinctive dinosaur Rotten Rexx, among others. These original characters, blending elements of beasts and zombies, possess terrifying and imposing appearances, with decaying flesh, exposed bones, and body parts composed of skulls and intestines. Coupled with vibrant, surreal color schemes, his personal style is incredibly strong and highly recognizable! Beyond monsters, James Groman has also experimented with combining his designs with superheroes, for instance, this 'Batman' with a monstrous physique – absolutely awesome!
This piece stands approximately 30 cm tall, with a total length of 53 cm, making for a truly imposing presence. While reinterpreting Godzilla's appearance with a lower, more robust proportion, it also meticulously sculpts the rough, hardened skin, prominent dorsal fins, and massive, sharp claws and teeth. The charmingly rounded aesthetic combined with realistic and intricate detailing creates an incredibly strong appeal! The most impressive aspect of this Godzilla figure is the integration of James Groman's signature design elements, utilizing interchangeable parts to reveal the internal skeleton, muscle fibers, and even exposed brain – specifically in three areas: the head, left arm, and tail end. To interpret the King of Monsters in a way that best represents his unique style, James Groman is truly brilliant!
