GUNDAM SIDE-F, the *Mobile Suit Gundam* themed facility in Fukuoka, Japan, which features the popular life-sized ν Gundam statue, recently announced that the latest limited-edition product from *Mobile Suit Gundam: Char's Counterattack*, available exclusively in-store, "HG 1/144 Hobby Hi-Zack (A.O.Z RE-BOOT Ver.)" will be released on July 22, 2023.
The RMS-106 Hi-Zack is a new mobile suit developed by the Earth Federation Forces during the *Z Gundam* era, after the One Year War. It was based on the design of the Zeon mobile suit "Zaku II F2 Type," incorporating technologies from both factions. Its hardware, including armor, engines, and thrusters, was comprehensively improved, and it was equipped with armaments such as beam rifles and beam sabers. By Universal Century 0093, the aging Hi-Zack had been retired from frontline service and repurposed for militia use. Some even acquired and customized them into sports competition mobile suits, serving as personal hobby collectibles.
The "HG 1/144 Hobby Hi-Zack (A.O.Z RE-BOOT Ver.)" is based on the A.O.Z RE-BOOT version designed by Kenki Fujioka. It recreates the highly angular armor, square shoulder armor, numerous thruster nozzles across the body, and vibrant color scheme with new parts. Multiple areas, including the head camera, torso, hip joints, limbs, and the two thrusters beneath the backpack, are articulated, allowing for dynamic poses befitting a sports competition mobile suit.
