Japan's official "Mobile Suit Gundam" Gunpla flagship store, GUNDAM BASE, today revealed information on the latest limited-edition product from "Mobile Suit Gundam NT", the "HG 1/144 Narrative Gundam A-Packs [Clear Color]", scheduled to go on sale starting July 29, 2023.
The protagonist mobile suit of "Mobile Suit Gundam NT", the RX-9 Narrative Gundam, is set as an experimental psychoframe unit developed by Anaheim Electronics for the RX-93 ν Gundam. Its external appearance and component structure are largely similar to the ν Gundam. As its primary purpose was data acquisition, many parts were not equipped with armor, and its only armament was the head-mounted vulcan cannons. During the "Phoenix Hunt" operation, this unit was unearthed by Luio & Co. for reinforcement. It can be equipped with the large high-mobility armament "A-Packs" featuring psycho-capture devices, the "B-Packs" equipped with a wired remote attack system backpack, and the "C-Packs," an external armor secretly modified by Luio & Co. consultant Michelle Luio using psychoframe parts collected from Unicorn Gundam series units.
The "HG 1/144 Narrative Gundam A-Packs [Clear Color]" is based on the regular release from 2018. All exterior armor parts, including white, yellow, red, and black, are made with new clear molded colors. The dark gray frame and base have been changed to metallic molded colors containing glitter. This highly translucent texture makes it more convenient for special customization techniques such as lighting or glow-in-the-dark paints, allowing for a style different from regular Gunpla.
The overall content is the same as the regular release, including the Narrative Gundam main unit and the large high-mobility armament "A-Packs". The Narrative Gundam main unit achieves a flexible range of motion through its chest expansion mechanism and sliding hip joints. The A-Packs not only boasts an impressive large size but also features detailed missile pod interiors and can reproduce the deployment of missile bay doors and the psycho-capture devices extending from the front of the cannon barrels.
