Released by BANDAI SPIRITS' Collectors Division TAMASHII NATIONS, the "S.H.MonsterArts" series, which combines exquisite monster sculpting with excellent articulation technology, today announced its latest product from "Godzilla: King of the Monsters," the "Godzilla (2019) -Night Color Edition-," which will be sold exclusively at the official flagship store TAMASHII NATIONS STORE. Release date is TBD.
The Godzilla that appeared in "Godzilla: King of the Monsters" largely inherited the overall design from Gareth Edwards' first film, possessing a similarly stout and massive bear-like physique. Its dorsal fins incorporated the coral-like design of Toho's original 1954 Godzilla, and its elephant-like retracted toes were changed to large, clawed feet closer to the Toho version. Although he was once defeated by the alien monster King Ghidorah in the film, his abilities became even more powerful after Professor Serizawa's self-sacrifice allowed Godzilla to absorb the nuclear bomb.
Similar to the regular edition released in 2019, the "Godzilla (2019) -Night Color Edition-" was sculpted and painted by renowned monster sculptor Yuji Sakai. It currently appears that the product reuses parts from the regular edition, with the color scheme changed to a night color. Compared to the regular edition, it features a deeper skin tone and a light blue spray to represent the more powerful radiation within its body.
