Hot Toys, the Hong Kong toy brand renowned for its high-end collectible action figures, has officially announced the latest product from the 2022 series 《假面騎士 BLACK SUN》, the "Kamen Rider Shadowmoon 1/6th Scale Collectible Figure," slated for release in October 2023. This product will be simultaneously launched in a regular edition and a special edition that includes a green King Stone accessory.
Nobuhiko Akizuki, who appears in 《假面騎士BLACK SUN》, is the transformer of Kamen Rider SHADOWMOON. At the age of 11, he and Kotaro Minami were implanted with the King Stone by Nobuhiko's researcher father, becoming Kaijin, and he was also one of the candidates for the "Creation King." In 1970s Japan, a period of intense conflict between humans and Kaijin, Kotaro Minami, Nobuhiko Akizuki, and a group of Kaijin comrades formed the anti-discrimination group "Gorgom" to advocate for Kaijin rights. However, the group disintegrated due to intervention from the Japanese government. Subsequently, Nobuhiko was imprisoned by his former comrades for 50 years. After escaping and reuniting with Kotaro Minami, he initially shared the belief of jointly ending the "Creation King." However, after witnessing a young Kaijin being murdered by humans and the corruption of the Japanese government, he became extremely enraged. He resolved to dominate the Gorgom Party and create a world where Kaijin would rule over humans, thus drawing his sword against Kotaro, who sought to end the history of Kaijin.
The "HOT TOYS Kamen Rider Shadowmoon 1/6th Scale Collectible Figure" boasts an impressive height of approximately 32 cm, meticulously recreating the silver-white body covered in muscle textures, wrinkles, and insectoid hard shells. It features over 30 points of articulation, with joints fully concealed while maintaining a flexible range of motion, closely mimicking the authentic texture of the on-screen suit. The figure's body not only reflects light when illuminated by a black light, but its eyes and belt also feature built-in green LED lights (USB powered) to brilliantly recreate its glowing appearance during the final battle!
Through interchangeable parts, the transformation belt can display two forms: mid-transformation and completed transformation. The disposable insect legs on both sides of the chest are detachable. By attaching various interchangeable hands, the "Century King Moon Sword" parts (transformed from insect legs), the Satan Sabre, and its scabbard, you can recreate dynamic battle scenes. The included display stand features a flexible gooseneck arm that can be bent to any angle to support the figure's poses. The base not only features the 《假面騎士 BLACK SUN》 series logo but also has a silver-white nameplate on the front.
The special edition includes a "Green King Stone" accessory, identical in actual size to the one in the series. This 4 cm long accessory, just like the one implanted in Nobuhiko Akizuki, also contains a built-in magnet, allowing it to attract and combine with the "Red King Stone" accessory included with the separately sold "Kamen Rider BLACK SUN 1/6th Scale Collectible Figure Special Edition."
