Following the R-1&R-GUN, R-2 Enhanced & R-3 Enhanced, and Invincible Expansion Parts Set, which can combine to form "SRX", the popular assembly model Shokugan series 'SHOKUGAN MODELING PROJECT' (SMP) released by BANDAI CANDY, the Shokugan division of Japan's Bandai Co., Ltd., recently announced the commercialization of another unit from "Super Robot Wars OG", the "Banpreios". The release date is yet to be determined.
First appearing in "Super Robot Wars Alpha 3", the SR-01 Banpreios is a successor unit developed from the SRX, classified as a Super Wide-Area Annihilation PT for Interdimensional Invasion Routes. In Alpha 3, Banpreios did not possess a separation and combination mechanism. It boasts a body even larger than the SRX and is equipped with numerous weapons that are similar to but more powerful than those of the SRX. The psychokinetic dimensional traversal system, "XN Dimension", which the SRX was unable to achieve in the past, was officially completed in Banpreios, allowing it to perform dimensional and spatial transfers independently to rescue comrades trapped in other dimensions.
Currently, an unpainted development prototype of "SMP Banpreios" has been revealed. This product is based on the version that appeared in "Alpha 3", and therefore will not feature the transformation and combination settings later added in the OG series. Its overall size is even larger than the previously released SRX, and it similarly features a wealth of intricate armor details. Pre-orders for the product are currently expected to open exclusively on Bandai's official online store, PREMIUM BANDAI, in Winter 2023.
