The white jacket is just as cool! Hong Kong brand STORM COLLECTIBLES, known for releasing numerous articulated action figures of fighting game characters, is set to release an articulated action figure of protagonist "Kyo Kusanagi" in his white jacket attire from SNK's classic fighting game "The King of Fighters 2002 Unlimited Match"! It is expected to launch in Q2 2024, priced at US$80.
Kyo Kusanagi (the character 薙 in his name is pronounced 'tì', not 'zhì') is one of the protagonists of SNK's classic 2D fighting game series 'The King of Fighters'. He first appeared in the inaugural 'The King of Fighters '94', participating as part of the Japan Team alongside Benimaru Nikaido and Goro Daimon. He utilizes the Kusanagi-ryu ancient martial arts, with almost all his techniques incorporating pure flames. His signature super move is "Ura 108 Shiki: Orochinagi". His initial appearance was primarily a student uniform, but starting with 'The King of Fighters '99: Millennium Battle' (where the protagonist was "K'"), his style changed, appearing in a white jacket paired with a black inner shirt and jeans. This look was maintained until 'The King of Fighters 2002'.
This Kyo Kusanagi figure from STORM COLLECTIBLES faithfully recreates Kyo's white jacket and jeans look, which he adopted after changing from his student uniform. The product is released under the title 'The King of Fighters 2002 Unlimited Match'. Kyo Kusanagi's white jacket, the black inner shirt with a cross pattern, as well as the waist chain and jeans, are all meticulously reproduced. For accessories, there are three interchangeable facial expressions: a normal face, a shouting face, and a gritting-teeth face for attack poses. The white jacket comes in two versions: a standard state and a dynamic, flowing state. Additionally, there are flame effect parts for his attacks, including two small flame effects for fingertips and palms, and a sweeping flame effect for special moves. Furthermore, six sets of interchangeable hand parts are included. The overall content is incredibly rich, allowing for easy recreation of various in-game special moves and actions.
