Released by TAMASHII NATIONS, the collector's toy division of Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS Co., the "METAL ROBOT魂" series, which combines metallic paintwork and a die-cast frame, today announced the latest product from the theatrical anime film "Mobile Suit Gundam SEED FREEDOM," the "Rising Freedom Gundam," scheduled for release in January 2024.
The Rising Freedom Gundam is the new mobile suit piloted by protagonist Kira Yamato in the theatrical film "Mobile Suit Gundam SEED FREEDOM." Its appearance and weaponry are closer to the ZGMF-X10A Freedom Gundam, but it possesses a mechanism to transform into its MA (Mobile Armor) form. The Freedom series' signature Full Burst Mode is still present, allowing it to simultaneously fire with its wings, waist cannons, and handheld beam rifle. The new shield has offensive and defensive capabilities, able to deploy wings and beam blades to assault enemy mobile suits.
The "METAL ROBOT魂 Rising Freedom Gundam" features die-cast metal in its main body joints, providing both robustness and a sense of weight. Its overall appearance boasts sharp and refined armor styling, and is applied with various metallic colors and body markings, showcasing a heavy metallic texture and high-density details. Notably, the shape of the back wings is not only sharp but also slightly fanned out, making it less rigid and more dynamic.
The weaponry includes a new beam rifle, beam sabers, beam shield, and a new offensive/defensive shield that can deploy wings and beam blades. The two cannons hidden in the wings and the folding cannons on both sides of the waist can, of course, also be deployed forward, recreating its signature Full Burst Mode. Furthermore, the product also features calf wing deployment and a head storage mechanism, allowing for the transformation into its prone MA form without needing to swap parts.
