BANDAI SPIRITS' prize figure brand BANPRESTO has announced a brand-new monster-themed figure series, 'Monster Roar Attack'. The first product in this series will be 'Godzilla (2023)' from the latest Godzilla film, 'Godzilla -1.0', slated for release in Japanese arcades in December 2023.
"Godzilla -1.0" is the 30th film in Japan's Toho "Godzilla" series, commemorating its 70th anniversary. Directed and written by Takashi Yamazaki, known for the "ALWAYS: Sunset on Third Street" series and "Stand By Me Doraemon", the film returns to the origin of the first Godzilla – post-World War II Japan. Having lost countless lives and infrastructure due to the war, Japan finds itself in a predicament where it must start from zero. The sudden landing of the colossal monster "Godzilla" pushes the nation into its most desperate state ever. How will people confront the challenge of going from zero to -1.0?
The "Monster Roar Attack Godzilla (2023)" stands approximately 14 cm tall. Its sculpt captures the robust physique reminiscent of the Heisei series Godzilla, with rough skin like deep-sea coral reefs and sharp, massive coral-like dorsal fins. Its limbs feature slender fingers and toes, evoking the appearance of a velociraptor, showcasing a fierce biological design. However, based on the official images, the surface currently lacks detailed color application, presenting a somewhat rough, glossy plastic feel.
