Danish LEGO toy company has recently begun to successively release information on new products to be launched in 2024. This article will bring news on two Chinese New Year themed products: set number 80112, 'Auspicious Dragon' (tentative translation), and set number 80113, 'Family Reunion Celebration' (tentative translation)!
The Chinese New Year sets, which have gradually become an annual staple, have once again unveiled excellent new creations for the 2024 Year of the Dragon. First, let's look at '80112 Auspicious Dragon'! With a total of 1171 pieces, once assembled, you get an Eastern divine dragon over 35 cm long. The overall color scheme is reminiscent of '80111 Lunar New Year Parade'. Its sand-colored body, printed with dragon scales, is accented with orange-yellow, teal, red, and gold pieces, creating a visually harmonious effect. Its limbs are connected by ball joints, offering a certain degree of poseability. The rock-scene base, featuring auspicious clouds and flowing water, is also quite beautiful. Coupled with a nameplate printed with the seal script characters "祥龍納福" (Auspicious Dragon Brings Blessings), it makes for a truly impressive display!
Next up is '80113 Family Reunion Celebration', with an even larger piece count of 1823. Toy enthusiasts, do you remember '80101 Chinese New Year's Eve Dinner'? This time, it's another family reunion theme, but for 2024, they're preparing to dine out! This minifigure scene set includes a magnificent three-story Chinese restaurant. The first floor features a reception counter, kitchen, and lobby; the second floor has dining areas, a karaoke room, and restrooms; and the third floor offers an outdoor seating area. The blue transparent pieces within the building, the window lattice structure on the second floor, the green eaves, and the "樂滿樓" (Le Man Lou) sign are all excellent! The front facade looks fantastic, and turning it around immediately reveals the detailed interior.
The impressive minifigure lineup is also exciting! It currently appears to include a total of 13 characters, with the Year of the Dragon-themed minifigure undoubtedly being a major highlight. The golden dragon head piece is absolutely superb.
