The 1/144 scale Gunpla "HG (High Grade)" series, known for its diverse range of mobile suits and produced by the HOBBY Division of Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS Company, recently announced the latest product from "A.O.Z Re-Boot Gundam Inle -The Black Rabbit's Dream-", the "HG 1/144 Gaplant TR-5 [Fiver] Gigantic Arm Unit Equipped Type (A.O.Z RE-BOOT Ver.)", slated for release in February 2024.
The ORX-005 Gaplant TR-5 [Fiver] is a mobile suit modified by the Titans from the transformable mobile suit "ORX-005 Gaplant" developed during the Gryps Conflict. The original Gaplant was used as a super high-altitude interceptor, achieving explosive acceleration performance through immense thrust. However, due to the excessive G-forces generated during acceleration, it could only be piloted by Cyber Newtypes. The modified Gaplant TR-5 [Fiver] was positioned as a "territorial dominance weapon" capable of single-handedly infiltrating and executing missions. Its main modifications included a Gundam-type head sensor and the carrying of a TR series long-range beam rifle. The version being commercialized this time is the form equipped with twin arms identical to those of the Psycho Gundam, connected via the enhanced unit "Hrududu II". These gigantic arms, comparable in size to the main body, utilize a semi-automatic control system and can fire built-in multi-barrel beam cannons or be used as close-combat melee weapons.
The main body of the "HG 1/144 Gaplant TR-5 [Fiver] Gigantic Arm Unit Equipped Type (A.O.Z RE-BOOT Ver.)" is based on the standard Gaplant released years ago, modified with a newly sculpted Gundam-type head and new long blade rifle parts. Not only are all joint parts replaced from ABS to KPS material, which is more suitable for painting, but the shoulder part construction has also been improved, with seam lines moved to less conspicuous positions, and new yellow parts added for the thruster nozzles. New "fist" shaped hands are included for both arms, and a 3mm hole has been added to the crotch for connecting to a separately sold display stand.
The Hrududu II and gigantic arm units mounted on the back largely reuse parts from the "HG 1/144 Gundam TR-1 [Hazel Owsla] Gigantic Arm Equipment". The elbows feature a double-joint design allowing for extensive bending, and each finger also reproduces independently movable joints with color separation for the fingertips. Two shield boosters are mounted on the outer side. The base of the Hrududu II connection parts also features a new 3mm hole for connecting to a separately sold display stand.
