MEGAHOUSE, a Japanese model manufacturer, recently announced the latest product from their "Gundam Guys Generation (GGG)" character model series for Mobile Suit Gundam: the "Master Asia Art Graphics Style" from Mobile Fighter G Gundam, slated for release in late March 2024.
Master Asia, Undefeated of the East, the master of the protagonist Domon Kasshu in the series, is a martial arts grandmaster and Gundam Fighter who founded the School of the Undefeated of the East. He can unleash the school's ultimate technique, "Sekiha Tenkyoken" (石破天驚拳), and defeat giant machines with his bare hands. He previously represented Neo Hong Kong in the 12th Gundam Fight, winning the championship, and was also a member of the "Shuffle Alliance" responsible for mediating disputes. However, afterward, he felt remorse, indignation, and despair over the environmental destruction caused by the Gundam Fight. He came to agree with the Devil Gundam's will to eradicate humanity from Earth, thus becoming an adversary to his former disciple, Domon, who sought to destroy the Devil Gundam. After several confrontations, Master Asia ultimately acknowledged Domon's growth and convictions and reconciled with him. However, his body had already succumbed to an incurable illness. Lying in Domon's arms, Master Asia regretted his life, gazing at the beautiful dawn rising over the horizon. Before his passing, he once again cried out the heartfelt words he shared with his disciple:
The School! Of the Undefeated of the East! The Winds of the King! Brand New! Series! Tenpa Kyōran! Take this! Blood Stains the Eastern Sky Red!
The "GGG Master Asia Art Graphics Style" is a modified version of the previously released standard edition. Presented in approximately 1/8 scale with a total height of 24 cm, it renders Master Asia's incredibly imposing "Golden Rooster Stands on One Leg" martial arts pose in three dimensions. The figure meticulously sculpts his aged yet sharp facial features, the robust physique hidden beneath his attire, and the intricate folds of his clothing. Notably, details such as veins and wrinkles are crafted on his palms, wrists, and ankles, showcasing the profound skill of a martial arts grandmaster honed through extensive training.
The difference from the standard edition lies in the entirely re-applied color scheme, featuring more vivid contrast and lighting. This "art graphics style" deepens the colors in shaded areas and brightens illuminated surfaces, making the detailed contours more three-dimensional and impactful. While the base still bears the inscription "School of the Undefeated of the East... Blood Stains the Eastern Sky Red," the originally colorless transparent parts have been replaced with an orange-red gradient, depicting the sky blushing red just before dawn.
