The animated film "The Boy and the Heron," directed by master Hayao Miyazaki, is inspired by novelist Genzaburo Yoshino's novel "How Do You Live?" (君たちはどう生きるか). The story describes Mahito, a boy who loses his mother in an air raid during the Pacific War. After his father remarries his mother's sister, Natsuko, Mahito moves and evacuates to his mother's family's large mansion. Mahito is unconsciously drawn to a mysterious heron and becomes curious about the enigmatic tower next to the mansion. Guided by the heron, Mahito enters a world where the living and the dead coexist, embarking on an incredible journey of exploration...
The "The Boy and the Heron Finger Puppet Set" is based on the puppets of the seven housekeepers in the mansion from the film. The prototypes were handcrafted by Yoshie Hayashi of Studio Ghibli, retaining a handmade texture. The distinctive costumes and lively expressions of each of the seven old women are perfectly recreated in finger puppet form. Additionally, it includes three stacked Warawara, allowing you to enjoy the film's worldview!
