'GUNDAM SIDE-F', the Mobile Suit Gundam themed facility in Fukuoka, Japan, which features the highly popular life-sized ν Gundam statue, today announced the latest exclusive product from "Mobile Suit Gundam: Char's Counterattack", the "RG 1/144 ν Gundam (Initial Color Ver.)", scheduled to go on sale in stores on December 22, 2023.
The RX-93 ν (Nu) Gundam is a custom mobile suit designed with the participation of Earth Federation Forces' Newtype ace pilot, Amuro Ray. After three months of rushed production by Anaheim Electronics, it was deployed in UC 0093 during the Second Neo Zeon War initiated by Char, serving as the successor to the RX-78 Gundam series. This gray and white color scheme represents the ν Gundam's appearance upon completion and rollout from Anaheim Electronics' Von Braun factory. At this stage, it had not yet been equipped with the Psycho-Frame, which unleashes Newtype potential, and was undergoing minimal performance tests with its basic original specifications. Nevertheless, its high level of completion astonished the Federation officials and technicians who came for inspection.
The "RG 1/144 ν Gundam (Initial Color Ver.)" is a modification of the previously released regular kit. All parts' molded colors have been replaced with the initial gray and white scheme, and it includes new original marking decals. Even the CG image on the outer box packaging has been updated to reflect the initial color scheme. All other aspects remain identical to the regular kit.
The RG version condenses the original mobile suit's charm and mechanisms into the 1/144 scale. Each part features precise separation, and the exterior armor utilizes three shades of white to gray to enhance layering, along with high-density detailed sculpting. Joint mechanisms designed to increase articulation range are incorporated in areas such as the shoulders, chest, waist, and hips. The leg armor also features interlocking mechanisms, allowing for dynamic and natural combat poses. Weapon accessories include a Beam Rifle, Beam Saber, Hyper Bazooka, Shield, and 6 "Fin Funnels" that can be folded to recreate their firing state.
