BANDAI CANDY, the confectionery toy division of Japan's Bandai Co., Ltd., has announced the latest product from its popular assembly model confectionery toy series 'SHOKUGAN MODELING PROJECT' (SMP), the "Aquarion Assault Type" from "Genesis of Aquarion", scheduled for release in March 2024.
The Aquarion Assault Type is a mass-produced Aquarion developed jointly by the Earth Rejuvenation Organization DEAVA and the Neo United Nations Army, based on the Aquarion Myth Type. By transplanting the wings of a fallen angel, it possesses autonomous piloting capabilities and elemental powers that can replace Element Users, allowing it to be operated by a single pilot. The Assault Type and Myth Type share largely similar configurations and armaments, combining from three vectors: ALPHA, OMEGA, and DELTA. In addition to transforming into the three basic forms, it also features the six-legged tank "Doomsday Form" and the "Assault Walker Form", reminiscent of a Macross fighter.
The "SMP Aquarion Assault Type" utilizes multi-color molded parts to recreate the ALPHA, OMEGA, and DELTA vectors. It not only reproduces intricate fuselage structures, armaments, and turret designs but also features robust joint designs and a transformation/combination mechanism. According to the settings, it can recreate five forms, including the approximately 17 cm tall Aquarion Alpha, Aquarion Omega, Aquarion Delta, Aquarion Doomsday Form, and Aquarion Assault Walker Form. Furthermore, it can even be combined with the separately sold "SMP Genesis of Aquarion" to recreate the "Angel Type Aquarion", formed by the combination of SOL, LUNA, and OMEGA!
