Today (14th), TAMASHII NATIONS, the collectibles division of Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS Company, unveiled a new product from their S.H.Figuarts action figure brand, based on the "NARUTOP99 Commemorative Illustration" specially drawn by Masashi Kishimoto from "Naruto"! This article will provide product information for "Sakura Haruno (春野サクラ) -NARUTOP99 Edition-"!
To commemorate the 20th anniversary of Masashi Kishimoto's popular work "NARUTO", a global popularity poll for Naruto characters was held from December 28, 2022, to January 31, 2023, garnering a total of 4,600,000 votes. The Fourth Hokage, "Minato Namikaze", secured an overwhelming first place, followed by the eternal older brother, "Itachi Uchiha", in second. Surprisingly, "Sakura Haruno" took third place, surpassing "Shisui Uchiha" and "Kakashi Hatake". Protagonists "Naruto Uzumaki" and "Sasuke Uchiha" ranked sixth and eighth respectively. To thank global fans for their support, Kishimoto-sensei specially drew the "NARUTOP99 Commemorative Illustration" (to make another quick buck).
The "S.H.Figuarts Sakura Haruno -NARUTOP99 Edition-" stands approximately 13.5 cm tall and recreates her outfit from Part II. The biggest highlight is the inclusion of the golden great axe she wields in the commemorative illustration. In addition to its beautiful metallic texture and gradient color expression, the '99' and her cherry blossom motif on it are faithfully reproduced. Personally, I feel the color of the green strap becomes a bit too prominent in its physical form. Furthermore, the NARUTOP99 Edition's tongue-out expression and the interchangeable hair parts sculpted to show dynamic flying hair give Sakura a unique charm. It also includes four other interchangeable expressions: a confident smile, a left-eye squinting smile, a battle face focused straight ahead, and a "What the hell?!" face. Paired with the great axe, you can truly recreate some very interesting battle scenes.
