MECHA SMILE, a brand under Japanese model manufacturer GOOD SMILE COMPANY, following the release of "ED-209" from the movie "RoboCop" in its 'MODEROID' plastic model kit series, has once again announced its latest product, "MODEROID RoboCop", with a suggested retail price of 5,900 JPY, scheduled for release in July 2024!
The classic 1987 film "RoboCop" is one of the representative works of 80s sci-fi action films. The story is set in a near-future Detroit, USA, where government is dysfunctional, anarcho-capitalism is mainstream, and urban operations are dominated by corporate conglomerates. OCP proposes the RoboCop program and transforms the body of Murphy, who died in the line of duty, into a police cyborg... Its shocking level of violence and prophetic story setting remain intriguing even after 35 years.
The "MODEROID RoboCop" plastic model kit stands approximately 175 mm tall after assembly and is redesigned as a plastic model kit based on the "HAGANE WORKS RoboCop". Each joint is articulated, and it features metallic-colored molded parts, allowing for a movie-accurate appearance simply through assembly. It comes with the Auto 9 and Cobra Cannon, various interchangeable hand parts, and interchangeable face plates. The right thigh can be deployed, and by using interchangeable parts, the Auto 9's deployment state can be recreated.
