Max Factory, a Japanese model manufacturer, has announced the latest product from its popular articulated figure series 'figma': "RACING MIKU 2023ver." from the 'Hatsune Miku GT Project', scheduled for release in August 2024.
"RACING MIKU" serves as the ambassador for the Japanese racing team GOODSMILE RACING (GSR). Since the launch of the 'Hatsune Miku GT Project' in 2008, a different illustrator has been commissioned each year to design her with various outfits and appearances. This new image is then painted onto the race car for that season, drawing considerable attention. For 2023, Toridamono, an illustrator renowned for character designs in the 'Atelier Ryza' series, took on the design, incorporating elements such as cute fangs and plump thighs into Hatsune Miku's new look, giving her an energetic yet somewhat alluring impression.
"figma RACING MIKU 2023ver." faithfully recreates the physique and costume design based on Toridamono's illustration. The particularly rounded pelvis and plump thigh curves fully showcase a voluptuousness reminiscent of Ryza. Rich color applications and pattern printing reproduce the intricate details of the costume, while the dynamic twin-tails are crafted with clear parts and gradient paintwork. The figma series' original joint parts are used throughout the body for articulation, including the base of the twin-tails, the side capes, neck, chest and waist, and limbs, all featuring extensive articulation to allow for various adorable poses.
Accessories include a "smiling face," a "gazing face," and various interchangeable hand parts. Also included are a flag printed with the "GOODSMILE RACING" logo, and a cute "cheering squad chick" in a matching costume style, all of which can be displayed alongside the RACING MIKU 2023ver. figure itself!
