The popular action figure series 『S.H.Figuarts』, released by TAMASHII NATIONS, the collector's toy division of Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS Company, recently announced the confirmed commercialization of its latest work, "Nezuko Kamado," from the popular manga "Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba." The latest prototype was exhibited today at the 'Jump Festa 2024' event.
Nezuko Kamado is the younger sister of the protagonist Tanjiro. She is not only kind-hearted and devoted to her family but also recognized as a village beauty. Although a year younger than her brother, Nezuko possesses a mature mindset, helping her mother care for her younger siblings. However, she also shares her brother's fierce determination to protect her family. One day, while Tanjiro was out selling charcoal, the Kamado family was massacred by Muzan Kibutsuji, the progenitor of man-eating demons. Nezuko survived but was transformed into a demon. Surprisingly, Nezuko retained her human consciousness, understanding Tanjiro's words and gaining immense strength and the ability to change her body size. In the early stages of the story, she often shrinks to fit into a wooden box to avoid sunlight.
The "S.H.Figuarts Nezuko Kamado" faithfully recreates her in-show appearance and proportions based on the anime's design. Rich color applications are used for her orange hair tips and obi, while grooves in the parts depict the hemp leaf pattern on her pink kimono. The arm sections feature precise part segmentation to maintain aesthetic integrity, housing numerous articulated joints for more natural poses. However, the skirt portion below the waist appears to be undivided, which might limit the range of motion for her legs. Currently, two interchangeable facial expressions and three pairs of sculpted hands have been revealed, with more detailed product information to be announced at a later date.
