Yu-Gi-Oh! Toon-Style Monsters 'MEGA TOON' Series Announced, Featuring Cute New Designs for Dark Magician, Blue-Eyes White Dragon, and the Three Egyptian Gods!

Japanese model maker MEGAHOUSE recently announced a brand new figure series based on Yu-Gi-Oh! monster cards, 'MEGA TOON'. In addition to showcasing developing prototypes for three new figures – "Dark Magician", "Slifer the Sky Dragon", and "Obelisk the Tormentor" – they also confirmed the commercialization of "Blue-Eyes White Dragon" and "The Winged Dragon of Ra". Release dates are yet to be determined.

In the original Yu-Gi-Oh! series, the Toon Deck was a special set of cards created by the monster card originator, Maximillion Pegasus, for his personal enjoyment. After activating the Continuous Spell Card 'Toon World', all monsters on his field would become Toon monsters. Only Toon monsters could inflict damage to other Toon monsters. However, in the original story, only Pegasus possessed this deck, making it quite a formidable presence. While 'Toon World' isn't particularly practical in real-life gameplay, many Toon monsters like Dark Magician Girl, Blue-Eyes White Dragon, and Summoned Skull boast incredibly cute designs.

The new 'MEGA TOON' series continues the design style of 'Toon World'. In addition to the original Toon versions of Blue-Eyes White Dragon and Dark Magician, the three Egyptian God Cards have also been transformed into adorable Toon styles, featuring an approximate 2-head-tall proportion and rich, detailed sculpting.
