Japan's GOOD SMILE COMPANY's popular product series "Nendoroid" has announced its latest product, "Noriko Takaya" (Takaya Noriko), from the sci-fi robot anime "GunBuster" (Top wo Nerae!)! It is scheduled for release starting in June 2024.
The setting of "GunBuster," originally created by "Toshio Okada" and directed by "Hideaki Anno," is the 21st century. At this time, human technology has advanced to the point where the universe can be explored with giant light-speed battleships. However, simultaneously, Earth civilization is under severe threat from the "Space Terrible Monster Crowd." The protagonist, "Noriko Takaya," is a student at Okinawa Girls' Space High School, striving to pilot humanoid mecha and venture into space. Later, in the universe, which has become a fierce battlefield, she pilots humanity's last resort, the giant robot "GunBuster," to fight against the Space Monsters, shouldering the future of humanity alongside her "big sister" Kazumi Amano.
The "Nendoroid Noriko Takaya" recreates her red and white-themed combat suit worn while piloting GunBuster. Noriko's red short hair, the dynamically sculpted blue hairband, and her well-detailed eyes are all excellent. Paired with her serious face determined to fight, a gentle smiling face, and various hand parts, you can recreate Noriko's rich array of poses. What's even better is the inclusion of a chibi-style puzzled face and a "Science Lecture '?' symbol" effect sheet, allowing for a different, more everyday and incredibly cute Noriko.
