The popular action figure series "S.H.Figuarts", released by TAMASHII NATIONS, the collector's toy division of Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS Company, has announced its latest product, "Nezuko Kamado", from the popular manga "Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba", scheduled for release in August 2024.
Nezuko Kamado is the younger sister of the protagonist Tanjiro. She is not only kind-hearted and devoted to her family but also recognized as the village beauty. Although a year younger than her brother, Nezuko is quite mature, helping her mother care for her younger siblings. However, she also shares her brother's willingness to sacrifice herself to protect her family. One day, while Tanjiro was out selling charcoal, the Kamado family was slaughtered by the progenitor demon, "Muzan Kibutsuji". Nezuko survived but was transformed into a demon. Surprisingly, Nezuko retained her human consciousness, could understand Tanjiro's words, and gained immense strength and the ability to change her body size. In the early stages of the story, she often shrinks to fit into a wooden box to avoid sunlight.
The "S.H.Figuarts Nezuko Kamado" is crafted to an articulated specification with a total height of approximately 13 cm, recreating Nezuko from the anime setting. Printing technology and delicate sculpting are used to reproduce her facial features, hair ornaments, and the bamboo muzzle in her mouth. Details such as her orange hair tips and obi are rendered with rich color applications, while the hemp leaf pattern on her pink kimono is expressed using grooves in the parts themselves. The arm sections feature precise part segmentation while maintaining the integrity of the sculpt, incorporating numerous articulated joints for more natural poses.
Although the skirt portion below the waist does not feature part segmentation, which significantly limits the range of motion for the legs, the product includes interchangeable lower body parts for a sitting pose to compensate for this limitation. It can be combined with up to 5 types of expression parts and 2 pairs of interchangeable hands to recreate various scenes from the anime. Additionally, the product includes parts that link with the separately sold "S.H.Figuarts Tanjiro Kamado" to recreate a cute brother-sister hand-holding scene.
