The 'METAL ROBOT Damashii' series, released by Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS Company's collector's toy division TAMASHII NATIONS, which combines metallic paint finishes with die-cast frames, today teased a silhouette of a new product from 'Mobile Suit Gundam SEED FREEDOM'. Detailed product information is expected to be officially announced on February 8th.
Although the official name of the mobile suit has not yet been revealed, the silhouette clearly indicates it is the improved Destiny Gundam, ZGMF/A-42S2 Destiny Gundam Spec II, which appears in 'Mobile Suit Gundam SEED FREEDOM'. This unit was secretly recovered by the Archangel after the original Destiny Gundam was severely damaged in the previous war, and then repaired and upgraded by Morgenroete with the latest technology. In addition to adopting a cutting-edge all-around cockpit and replacing joint armor materials, its power system was also significantly improved. The substantial increase in energy also resulted in a deeper color for its VPS armor. Piloted once again by Shinn Asuka, it finally achieved its true combat potential.
Furthermore, the silhouette also shows Destiny holding the "large solid-projectile weapon" used in the final battle. We can anticipate what new elements, beyond just a color change, will be added to the complete product.
