The plastic model kit series 'MODEROID', launched by Japan's MECHA SMILE brand, today announced its latest product, 'Mazinger ZERO', from 'Shin Mazinger ZERO vs. Great General of Darkness', scheduled for release in September 2024.
In the 'Shin Mazinger ZERO' manga series, Mazinger Z was developed by the genius scientist Juzo Kabuto to conquer the world, making it the strongest super robot in history. Its armaments are largely similar to the original Mazinger Z, but their power has been greatly enhanced; its 'Photon Beam' alone can pierce through the Earth in a single shot. Even more formidable is the ultimate system it's equipped with: 'Mazinger Power', which possesses artificial intelligence and self-evolution. Mazinger Power can sequentially unleash seven stages of abilities: self-repair, absorption, enhancement, high-dimensional prediction, form transformation, and a causality weapon that interferes with a 1% chance of victory to make it 100%. Finally, it unleashes the seventh stage of Mazinger Power: Mazin-Go, transforming into the demon god of the end, 'Mazinger ZERO', to destroy the world.
The 'MODEROID Mazinger ZERO' kit utilizes multiple molded color parts, pre-painted parts, and stickers to construct Mazinger ZERO, standing approximately 15.5 cm tall. The chest heat sink and the powerful ZERO Wings on its back are all made with clear red parts. This product is a collaboration with model manufacturer Sentinel, with T-REX handling the prototype production. The high-density engraved line design on the armor surface reveals characteristics similar to the 'Mazinkaiser' series from the same product line, giving the originally smooth armor surfaces more sharp lines. The fierce face, as if baring fangs, features a movable jaw joint, allowing for the recreation of its classic open-mouth pose.
