Issued by the HOBBY Division of Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS Co., Ltd., the 1/100 scale Gundam plastic model『MG (Master Grade)』series, known for its excellent part separation, internal frame structure, and rich articulation, today announced the latest product from "Mobile Suit Gundam SEED", the "MG 1/100 GINN (Miguel Aiman's Custom Machine)", scheduled for release in April 2024. This product will be pre-sold exclusively on Bandai's official online store PREMIUM BANDAI, and is also planned for limited sale at the "HYPER PLAMO Fes.2024" event held from March 22-24.
The ZGMF-1017 GINN is the first mass-produced mobile suit developed by the Z.A.F.T. military in the Cosmic Era. It features a pair of thruster wings on its back, allowing for high mobility in both space and on land. Additionally, the GINN is equipped with hardpoints on its side skirts and legs for mounting weapons, enabling it to carry a variety of armaments according to combat needs, in addition to its standard "Heavy Sword" and "76mm Heavy Assault Machine Gun". In the series, Z.A.F.T. ace pilot Miguel Aiman, a member of Rau Le Creuset's team, also piloted this mobile suit. As this character was voiced by Takanori Nishikawa, the singer of the "Gundam SEED" theme song, the GINN he piloted in the side story was given Nishikawa's preferred orange paint scheme, and this sunset-like color earned it the cool moniker "Twilight's Demonic Bullet".
The "MG 1/100 GINN (Miguel Aiman's Custom Machine)" is a modification of the previously released standard version. The molding colors of all exterior armor parts have been changed to orange, white, black, green, and other hues. It also includes newly designed water-slide decals for the fuselage markings, perfectly recreating Miguel's custom GINN's orange paint scheme and skull-shaped personal emblem. Furthermore, a handheld shield, not included in the standard version, has been produced with new parts, utilizing precise sculpting to reproduce the support structure on the inside of the shield.
The design of the remaining parts is identical to the standard version, adopting the Z.A.F.T. common frame, similar to the Zaku Warrior series. It features flexible articulated joints, and even the interior of the backpack is meticulously detailed with internal structures. The backpack thruster wings can swing up, down, and backward. Armaments include the "Heavy Sword", "76mm Assault Machine Gun", and the "3-barrel Short-Range Guided Missile Launcher" mounted on both sides of the legs. After attaching the grips, the guided missile launchers can be held in both hands.
