Have you already acquired the 2024 Lunar New Year LEGO sets, "80112 Auspicious Dragon Celebration," "80113 Lunar New Year Parade," and "40678 Festive Calendar"? This "40714 Carousel Ride", adorned with a rich Chinese New Year flavor and set to release on March 1, 2024, also feels like a perfect complement! The suggested retail price is US$24.95.
This set contains a total of 232 pieces, making it a small minifigure + vehicle combination. Once assembled, you get a carousel ride that can seat up to four people simultaneously, decorated with numerous red and gold elements, along with surrounding small fences and a simple ticket booth. Upon first glance, this carousel feels quite novel; not only is this style of decoration and color scheme a first for a LEGO product, but the window lattice pieces chosen for the fence are truly Chinese in aesthetic. A charming detail is that the four ride shapes – swan, whale, sailboat, and fire truck – all have corresponding stickers on them, with the whale being particularly endearing! The minifigure selection includes a little boy, a little girl, and a ticket seller. Look closely, and you'll even spot a banana on the ground! How dangerous!
