Kaiyodo, the Japanese model manufacturer, today officially announced the first product from their popular articulated figure series "AMAZING YAMAGUCHI", "Misaka Mikoto Winter Uniform Ver.", based on the popular novel "A Certain Scientific Railgun", is scheduled for release in November 2024.
The protagonist, Misaka Mikoto, attends Tokiwadai Middle School, a prestigious girls' school in Academy City. She is lively, straightforward, possesses a strong sense of justice, and has a kind-hearted nature that prevents her from abandoning others. Among the mere seven Level 5 espers, Mikoto, ranked third, garners significant attention not only because her electricity manipulation ability, "Railgun," is at its peak, but also because she diligently climbed to her current status from Level 5, excelling in both academics and athletics. However, due to the nature of her "Railgun" ability, small animals that Mikoto adores often feel fear and are difficult to approach.
The "AMAZING YAMAGUCHI Misaka Mikoto Winter Uniform Ver." sculpt is based on the character design from the anime "A Certain Scientific Railgun T", meticulously recreating her slender physique and winter suit uniform. Bold articulation splits are incorporated throughout the body, housing movable joints designed by renowned sculptor Katsuhisa Yamaguchi. This allows Misaka Mikoto to achieve extremely dynamic poses even while wearing her jacket, with the hip joints beneath her skirt also capable of free movement.
The accessories include a total of 7 interchangeable face parts: "Normal Face," "Smiling Face," and "Shouting Face," each available in both front-facing and side-glancing versions. Additionally, a "Cool Face" with a sharp, glaring expression allows for a wide range of emotional displays. Other parts for recreating everyday scenes include a school bag, a Gekota-themed mobile phone, multiple pairs of interchangeable hands, as well as a coin-holding hand and lightning effects to recreate the cool "Railgun" special move in both charging and firing states!
Furthermore, AMAZING YAMAGUCHI also plans to release other popular characters from "A Certain Scientific Railgun" in the future, such as "Shirai Kuroko" and "Shokuhou Misaki"!
