Sculptor Yoshi., who has recently garnered significant attention for his captivating works and world-building in the "Tsumugi-Bako" series, has obtained a one-day license from Toho Co., Ltd. He will be releasing his latest GK work, "Destoroyah Perfect Form," from the film "Godzilla vs. Destoroyah" at Japan's largest model exhibition, 'Wonder Festival 2024 Winter,' held on February 11, 2024. His booth number is 4-23-07.
Destoroyah was originally a microscopic crustacean that lived in an oxygen-free environment 2.5 billion years ago, slumbering in ancient strata. However, in 1954, when Dr. Serizawa used the "Oxygen Destroyer" to kill the first Godzilla, it also awakened the dormant Destoroyah in the modern era. These Destoroyah, originally only 2-5 millimeters in size, gradually mutated into nearly 2-meter-long juveniles upon contact with oxygen. These juveniles could then fuse and evolve into aggregate forms and flying forms, eventually absorbing Godzilla Junior's DNA and the flames from a thermal power plant to mutate into a Perfect Form with a wingspan exceeding 200 meters. Its emitted ray possesses powerful cutting abilities, and its combat style is extremely cunning.
Yoshi.'s sculpted "Destoroyah Perfect Form" boasts an impressive size of 35 cm in length and 60 cm in width, making it Yoshi.'s largest work to date. The overall design is based on the film's settings, fused with Yoshi.'s signature non-human, alien art style. The entire body's carapace and wing membrane textures are thoroughly reinterpreted to possess an exaggerated high-density, hard texture, even more so than typical crustaceans. The ferocious head sculpt exudes intense malice, and combined with the more robust and slender limb design, it further enhances the cunning and brutal demonic image established in its lore. The massive wings and tail are meticulously designed for weight balance, allowing Destoroyah to stand independently without the need for additional support.
