That super classic product released by Japanese toy manufacturer Kaiyodo, the masterpiece action figure "Woody" (ウッディ) from the "Revoltech" series, based on "Toy Story," is set to make another appearance as Ver. 2.0, after countless re-releases and the previously launched "Ver 1.5"!
Updated on February 26, 2024:
With that classic "face" that has seen countless toys succumb to its infamous (or rather, iconic) reputation, Kaiyodo Revoltech's "Woody" is undoubtedly one of the closest action figures to being "owned by everyone." Besides its excellent sculpting, posable eyes, and easy-to-play articulation, Kaiyodo's continuous re-release strategy has also allowed latecomers to the hobby to easily acquire it without the arduous task of hunting down old stock. In July 2022, Kaiyodo announced the Ver 1.5 versions of Woody and Buzz, and Jessie Ver 1.5 is also set to release this July. Who would have thought that Woody Ver. 2.0 would arrive so soon!
From the official images released by Kaiyodo today (26th), "Woody Ver. 2.0" not only retains the standard smiling face, the infamous (or rather, mischievous) grin that has been played with to no end, and the surprised and dumbfounded faces added in the Ver 1.5 version, but also includes new winking and super-confident "Oh, you!" smiling faces. As for accessories, in addition to all the contents from the Ver 1.5 version, it also adds a replacement hand part pinching the brim of his hat. The emphasis on expressions in this 2.0 version is even more unexpectedly impressive; just look at that ridiculously twisted bonus expression – it's truly going to be played to pieces!
